The counties and unitary councils where elections are scheduled to take place include Cambridgeshire, Derbyshire, Devon, Gloucestershire, Hertfordshire, Kent, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, Buckinghamshire, Cornwall, Durham, North Northamptonshire, Northumberland, Shropshire, West Northamptonshire, and Wiltshire. Additionally, the mayoral elections in Greater Lincolnshire and Hull & East Yorkshire present new opportunities for voters to shape the future of their regions.
The outcome of the 2025 local elections is anticipated to witness gains for Reform and the Liberal Democrats, potentially at the expense of the Conservatives and Labour. Reform’s influence in Lincolnshire, buoyed by previous electoral successes and Conservative-Labour dynamics, may significantly impact the results. Similarly, the Lib Dems are eyeing potential victories in Cambridgeshire, while the Conservatives aim to maintain their positions in Gloucestershire and Derbyshire.
