Eight-year-old Alfie Garrett from Holcombe, Somerset, is swiftly making his mark in the world of kart racing. His remarkable speed and skill have caught the attention of experts, positioning him as a potential future Formula One racer.
Alfie’s journey in karting commenced as lockdown measures eased, leading to family gatherings in a relative’s field. To keep the kids entertained, they repaired and drove various motorized vehicles, including a petrol go-kart. At just four years old, Alfie displayed exceptional driving abilities, fueled by his father Luke Garrett’s success as a champion driver in division two truck racing.
Despite the legal age for karting being six, Alfie’s passion for the sport led him to attend a test day and immediately attracted the attention of talent spotters. By the age of five, he participated in the Total Karting Zero championship and closed the season on the podium, marking the beginning of his promising career.
