Avon and Somerset Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying a man who could provide crucial information about a single-vehicle crash following a police chase in Chard. The incident occurred on Friday, August 29, at around 10:15 a.m. on Avishayes Road.
During the pursuit, a 21-year-old local man lost control and crashed the vehicle. He was subsequently arrested and charged with dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, failing to stop, and driving without insurance. The man has since been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Taunton Crown Court on Thursday, September 25. Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the crash.
Police have released a CCTV image of a man they believe witnessed the incident and may hold vital information to support their investigation. Officers urge anyone who recognizes the individual or the man himself to come forward.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson stated: “We are releasing a CCTV image of a man who could provide key evidence regarding the collision on Avishayes Road following a police pursuit. We ask the public to help identify him or for the man to contact us directly.”
