Yeovil has welcomed a vibrant new addition to its dining landscape with the grand opening of Atrium, an Italian restaurant and entertainment venue that promises a fresh experience for locals and visitors alike. The launch event, officiated by Mayor Tony Lock, featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by a bustling evening filled with exquisite cuisine and live music.
Situated on Western Terrace, just off Yeovil High Street, Atrium attracted a full house on its opening night, drawing guests eager to explore the venue’s stylish design and welcoming atmosphere. Mayor Lock praised the new establishment, stating, “Atrium introduces a truly special dining experience — the quality you’d expect from larger cities. It’s a fantastic asset for Yeovil, and I wish the team every success.”
Atrium is housed in the former site of Tamburino’s, a staple in the community for nearly 25 years before its closure last New Year’s Eve. This new chapter is guided by the same passionate team behind Tamburino’s, including Sicilian-born restaurateur Domenico, who emphasized the restaurant’s mission: “Atrium is more than just a place to eat; it’s designed around energy, experience, and bringing people together. Seeing a sold-out opening night is a testament to our vision.”

Central to Atrium’s unique ambiance is its striking double-height atrium space that features an open kitchen and a central bar, encouraging a lively and social dining environment. An upper-level balcony overlooks the main floor, adding theatrical flair and enhancing the communal feel.
Co-owner Salvatore highlighted their goal of offering something distinct for Yeovil: “We wanted to blend fantastic food with an inviting atmosphere and live entertainment. The enthusiastic response shows there’s a real appetite for this concept, and we’re excited about what lies ahead.”
While maintaining the authentic Italian culinary roots associated with Tamburino’s, Atrium strikes out as its own brand, aiming to become a standout dining destination within Somerset and beyond. With its commitment to quality and community, Atrium is set to become Yeovil’s newest hotspot for exceptional food and memorable nights.
