Yeovil has gained a captivating new addition to its dining scene with the grand opening of Atrium, a stylish Italian restaurant located on Western Terrace near Yeovil High Street. The launch event, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Mayor Tony Lock, drew a full house eager to explore the restaurant’s inviting new ambience.
Mayor Tony Lock praised Atrium’s debut, stating, “This venue brings a remarkable dining experience to Yeovil—one that rivals those typically found in much larger cities. I’m proud to officially open it and wish the team great success.”
The evening buzzed with energy as patrons enjoyed exquisite Italian cuisine complemented by live music in the beautifully redesigned space. Atrium takes over the site formerly occupied by Tamburino’s, which had been a beloved local establishment for nearly 25 years before closing at the end of last year. This new venture heralds a fresh chapter for both the location and the Tamburino Group’s culinary legacy.

Central to Atrium’s design is a stunning double-height atrium housing an open kitchen and a lively central bar, creating a warm, social atmosphere. An upper-level balcony overlooks the main dining area, enhancing the venue’s theatrical charm.
The restaurant is the brainchild of the Tamburino Group, including Sicilian-born Domenico, a restaurateur passionate about delivering authentic Italian flavors. Domenico shared, “Welcoming the Mayor and seeing a sold-out opening night is incredibly rewarding. Atrium is more than a place to eat—it’s about sharing vibrant experiences and bringing people together. We look forward to welcoming guests from across Somerset and beyond to enjoy one of the region’s premier dining destinations.”
Co-owner Salvatore added, “From the start, our goal was to offer Yeovil something truly different—an exciting blend of delicious food, ambiance, and live entertainment. The enthusiastic response on opening night confirms that we’re on the right path, and we’re excited for what’s to come.”
Atrium promises to maintain the authenticity of its Italian roots through skilled kitchen and front-of-house teams while establishing its own distinct identity. Visitors can look forward to a dynamic dining experience that honors tradition while embracing innovation.
