Yeovil Town’s scheduled National League match against Woking has been postponed after persistent heavy rainfall left the Laithwaite Community Stadium pitch waterlogged and unplayable. Following a thorough inspection on Friday, match officials, in consultation with the National League, prioritized the safety of players, staff, and supporters by calling off the fixture.
This latest postponement means the Glovers will now endure a three-week gap without any league football. Their scheduled home game against Aldershot on Tuesday was also canceled due to weather conditions. Despite these disruptions, Yeovil Town remains active in cup competitions, with an upcoming FA Trophy match away at AFC Telford United next Saturday.
The club has confirmed that tickets purchased for the postponed Woking game will remain valid when the fixture is rescheduled. Woking club officials noted the pitch was unable to recover after hosting a rearranged FA Trophy tie against Macclesfield on Tuesday, combined with ongoing heavy rain, necessitating the cancellation.
