Yeovil Town Women’s football is poised for a new era as Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust takes over the club’s operations, marking a major commitment to advancing women’s football in the region. This strategic shift ensures the women’s team remains a vital part of Yeovil Town FC, supported by dedicated leadership focused on enhancing participation, performance, and community engagement.
Jamie Phillip, CEO of Yeovil Town Community Sports Trust, emphasized the significance of this transition: “This is an incredible opportunity to revive community spirit and strengthen women’s football here. While the Women & Girls section stays within the club, the Community Trust has the dedicated staff and resources needed to elevate their development to new heights.”
Under the Community Sports Trust, Yeovil Town Women have unveiled an ambitious roadmap with clear goals: to reach the National League by 2028, establish a comprehensive youth development pathway, and secure long-term financial sustainability. The club’s vision centers on becoming the South West’s leading women’s football club, deeply rooted in community values, committed to nurturing talent, and operating sustainably.

Key objectives include creating a youth training center supporting over 120 girls of various age groups, launching an under-19 scholarship program that blends football development with education, increasing annual revenue by 250% through diversified income streams, and engaging more than 500 girls in Somerset with grassroots football initiatives.
A new talent pipeline will be built through partnerships with 25 local clubs and schools, with the training center serving as a hub offering structured coaching, competitive matches, and clear progression routes for young players across the county. The scholarship program, set to launch in the club’s second year, will provide elite football training alongside further education. Additionally, the club will field teams from under-10 through under-18, all coached by qualified academy staff.
To support commercial growth and community impact, Yeovil Town Women’s will introduce tiered sponsorship options, forge strategic partnerships with local businesses, implement an accessible fee structure for the training center, and seek grants from organizations such as the FA, Sport England, and local authorities. A dynamic content strategy highlighting player journeys, amplified presence on social media, school outreach programs, and annual tournaments at Huish Park will further raise the club’s profile throughout the region.
With this renewed and comprehensive approach, Yeovil Town Women are determined not only to boost participation and performance but to once again become the benchmark for women’s football across the South West.
