Yeovil Town Unveils New Kits and Squad Numbers for 2027/28 Season

Yeovil Town has made a bold departure from its traditional green and white hoops for the 2027/28 season, introducing a striking full green home kit. This fresh design features a crisp white trim on the neck and sleeve hems, complemented by distinctive triangular patches on the sides of the matching green shorts. The home socks add a classic touch with two white bands positioned above and below the shin pad area.

The club’s new away kit stands out with its vibrant dark pink and black undertones, apparently inspired by the Somerset County Cricket Club’s Vitality Blast kit. This eye-catching combination adds a modern twist that honors the region’s sporting heritage.

Both kits, crafted by Errea, were unveiled in a fan-centric event on Tuesday night at the Huish Park Fan Zone. The festivities began with an open training session earlier in the day, where supporters could see the squad in action. Later, players showcased the new designs on stage, igniting enthusiasm ahead of the start of pre-season this weekend.

In addition to the kit reveal, the club announced its squad numbers for the upcoming season. Notably, the #4 shirt will return to circulation, ending its retirement which had honored the late captain Lee Collins. The number will now be worn by new signing Hayden Muller, who joined from Sutton United. This decision follows Morgan Williams’ previous tribute wearing #4 under manager Mark Cooper.

Remaining squad numbers retain familiar faces, with Luke McCormick at #8, Brett McGavin #14, and Matt Gould #22. Dan Ellison currently sports #35 amidst speculation about his future. On the backline, new goalkeeper Jos Barker takes #1, while defenders Joy Mukena and Jordan Norville-Williams wear #2 and #3 respectively. Jack Kingdon dons #5, and loan recruit Loick Ayina is assigned #6.

Promising signing Mason Obeng, one of three acquisitions from Walton & Hersham brought in by manager Billy Rowley, claims the prestigious #7 jersey. Other key players include Stephen Walker (#9), Ryan Jones (#10), James Daly (#11), and Archie Davies (#12).

The squad avoids number 13, with new players distributing across #15 (Joe Gubbins), #17 (Joe Haigh), #20 (Johl Powell), and #25 (Zain Westbrooke). This leaves potential vacancies at #16, #18, and #19, hinting at possible additional signings to bolster the lineup. Manager Rowley has indicated plans for at least one more forward signing before the season kicks off.

With fresh kits, renewed energy, and a growing squad, Yeovil Town is poised for an exciting 2027/28 campaign.
