Yeovil Town manager Billy Rowley acknowledged the disappointment following their recent performance at Truro, emphasizing the team’s determination as they prepare to face Eastleigh at Huish Park in their final game of 2025.
The Glovers enter the match on a two-game losing streak, having been defeated by Forest Green and Truro around the Christmas period. Currently sitting 15th in the league table, Yeovil face Eastleigh, who occupy 14th place and come into the game unbeaten in their last two matches, including a 1-1 draw against Woking on Boxing Day.
Since the setback in Cornwall, Rowley has focused on learning from the experience and responding swiftly. “We’ve had a couple of video sessions and individual talks with the lads,” he said. “It was a game where we aimed for at least a draw. It’s given us a kick up the backside to work harder these last few days.”

Yeovil commence a sequence of three consecutive home games—an opportunity Rowley considers vital. “It’s a massive opportunity for us; every game here is,” he stated. “We need to identify our strengths and exploit the weaknesses of our opponents more effectively.”
Recent encounters between Yeovil and Eastleigh have been tightly contested, with last year’s Huish Park fixture ending in a 2-2 draw after a late equalizer by Eastleigh. Notably, Eastleigh have not recorded a win on Somerset soil since 2020—a streak Yeovil aims to extend.
Creating more scoring opportunities is a priority for Yeovil in the upcoming game. Rowley emphasized, “We need to create more chances and make teams worry. Our focus is to press Eastleigh and put them on the back foot.”
Despite recent disappointments, Rowley reminded supporters that the team is still shaping its identity. “We’re committed to working hard over the next few months to establish that,” he affirmed.
Team news brings a bright spot with the return of Morgan Williams after a three-game suspension. “His absence was felt; he’s a top player and a great professional,” said Rowley. Although Williams sustained a slight knock in training, Rowley expressed confidence in his availability for the match.
The squad is nearing full fitness, with Alex Whittle resuming running and Jacob Maddox training well. However, Maddox may not yet be ready for selection, prompting the possibility of a short-term loan to maintain squad depth.
Given the back-to-back losses, recruitment remains a consideration. “It’s always on your mind,” Rowley acknowledged. “After two defeats, you think about who could strengthen the squad—but it’s crucial we sign the right players.”
Looking ahead to the match, Rowley is eager to return to Huish Park and deliver a strong performance for the fans. “I’m really looking forward to getting back there and giving our very best,” he concluded.
