Yeovil Town Strengthens Squad with Two New Signings as Striker Departs

Yeovil Town Football Club has bolstered its squad with the arrivals of defender Joy Mukena and young midfielder Troy Perrett, while striker Andrew Oluwabori has returned to Exeter City after his loan spell.

Joy Mukena joins the Glovers from Crawley Town on a contract running until Summer 2027. A product of Tottenham Hotspur’s academy, Mukena developed through Watford’s youth system before gaining valuable National League South experience at St Albans City. He played a key role in Crawley Town’s promotion-winning 2023/24 campaign, featuring notably in their 5-1 play-off semi-final win over MK Dons.

Expressing his excitement, Mukena said, “I’m really pleased to be joining Yeovil Town. It’s a club with a strong identity and ambition, and I’m looking forward to getting started, working hard, and contributing to what the group is trying to build.”

Yeovil manager Billy Rowley praised Mukena’s qualities, stating, “Joy brings good experience for his age and has been part of successful teams. He’s someone we feel will add competition and depth to the squad, and we’re pleased to bring him to Yeovil Town.”

The club also secured the signing of 19-year-old Welsh Under-21 midfielder Troy Perrett from Cardiff City. Perrett has impressed this season in the EFL Trophy, including scoring the equalizer in a 3-1 victory over Arsenal Under-21s, demonstrating his readiness for senior football.

“I’m really pleased to be joining Yeovil Town. It’s a great opportunity for me to get minutes and continue my development in a competitive environment. I’m looking forward to getting started and helping the team wherever I can,” said Perrett.

Rowley added, “Troy is a talented young player with a lot of potential. He’s already been involved at senior and international level, and this move gives him the chance to gain valuable experience. We’re pleased to welcome him to the club.”

Meanwhile, Andrew Oluwabori’s loan period at Yeovil has ended, and the forward has returned to Exeter City. Oluwabori made 12 appearances for the Glovers, including a memorable goal in a 2-1 victory over Sutton United in September.
