Yeovil Town Strengthen Midfield by Signing Johl Powell

Yeovil Town have bolstered their squad for the upcoming season by securing the signature of midfielder Johl Powell on a two-year contract. Powell arrives at Huish Park following an impressive tenure at Walton & Hersham, where he netted 21 goals in 39 league appearances last season, marking back-to-back campaigns with double-digit goal tallies.

The midfielder reconnects with Yeovil Town manager Billy Rowley, having previously worked together at Walton & Hersham in 2024. Powell becomes the second player this summer to reunite with Rowley, following Mason Obeng’s signing last month.

Powell’s football journey began at Millwall before he progressed through the Charlton Athletic academy. He made his senior debut with Charlton in an EFL Trophy match against Leyton Orient in November 2020. After leaving Charlton, Powell gained valuable experience in non-league football with Dulwich Hamlet, Tonbridge Angels, and Dover Athletic, competing in the National League South and sharpening his skills ahead of this new challenge with Yeovil Town.
