Carlisle United extended their impressive run in the National League, securing their fifth win in six matches with a convincing 3-0 victory over Yeovil Town at Brunton Park. The result sees Yeovil drop to 20th in the league standings, struggling to find form.
From early on, Carlisle set the tone. Captain Morgan Feeney opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a precise header following a deep cross from Jack Ellis. The home team doubled their lead just 12 minutes later after a contentious incident in the box. Stephen Wearne went down under a challenge from Yeovil defender Finn Cousin-Dawson, leading to a penalty. Luke Armstrong calmly converted from the spot, marking his tenth goal of the season.
Just before halftime, Carlisle sealed the win with a composed finish from Ryan Galvin, who kept his cool after breaking through on goal from Ellis’ assist, recording his first goal for the club.

The second half saw Carlisle maintain pressure, creating multiple chances. Armstrong was denied by Yeovil’s goalkeeper Jed Ward on one occasion, and a flicked effort by substitute Chris Conn-Clarke was disallowed for offside, but the scoreline remained unchanged.
Yeovil will need to regroup quickly if they are to halt their slide down the table and revive their season.
