Yeovil Town Sets Sights on EFL Return Following New Ownership Takeover

Yeovil Town is gearing up for a swift return to the English Football League (EFL) after entrepreneur Prabhu Srinivasan finalized his takeover of the club. The Dubai-based businessman acquired the Glovers from the Hellier Trading Group this week, stepping in as the new Owner and Chairman with ambitious plans for the club’s future.

Having slipped from the Championship to non-league football over the past decade and finishing 18th in the National League last season, Yeovil Town is eager to reclaim its status in the Football League. Srinivasan expressed his admiration for the club’s potential, history, and unique character in an open letter to supporters, emphasizing a vision of promotion paired with sustainable growth.

In his heartfelt message, Srinivasan shared his personal journey: “Our family office, Inflection Holdings, has purchased Yeovil Town Football Club. We are committed to upholding the values of this incredible club—not just through success on the pitch but also by serving the local community. Football clubs aren’t owned; they are custodianships that require steady and long-term leadership.”

He paid tribute to the club’s existing leadership, praising Stuart Robins who recently joined as Executive Chairman. Srinivasan also thanked the previous owners, Martin and Jack Hellier, for facilitating a smooth ownership transition.

With over 30 years of experience spanning banking, retail, technology, and sports, Srinivasan brings a wealth of business acumen and a deep passion for football. His family’s involvement in youth sports and his son Sahil’s background in football training and sports science reinforce their dedication to the club’s development. The family now resides in Dubai, UAE.

Srinivasan spoke fondly of Yeovil’s local charm, recounting his first visit to the region’s historic landmarks and the warm welcome he received from fans during his attendance at the last home game. “Joining the vocal supporters at the Thatcher’s End made me feel right at home despite the scoreline,” he remarked.

Looking ahead, the new ownership is committed to strengthening the club both on and off the field. They plan to increase the budget for the playing squad and invest in the club’s infrastructure, aiming to build a financially sound foundation for lasting success.

“While our goal is to see Yeovil Town promoted back to the EFL, we recognize the competitiveness of the National League and prioritize the club’s long-term viability,” Srinivasan stated.

The owners are eager to cultivate a transparent and collaborative relationship with fans. They have planned a ‘meet the owners’ event on Thursday, 12th June at 7:30 pm in the Glovers Lounge at Huish Park, inviting supporters to engage, share ideas, and ask questions.

Srinivasan urged fans to show their support by attending every home game and taking advantage of early bird season ticket prices, emphasizing that packed stands are vital to the club’s success. “Let’s make Huish Park a fortress next season!”

Concluding his letter, he reaffirmed the collective mission: “We are committed to delivering success for our supporters, stakeholders, and the broader Yeovil community. We are in this for the long haul, building a legacy that we can all be proud of. Together, we will rise.”
