Yeovil Town finally opened their account for the season with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Brackley at Huish Park in the Enterprise National League.
After two scoreless games, the Glovers took the lead in the 35th minute when Josh Sims capitalized on a deflected cross, tapping the ball in at the back post to put Yeovil ahead.
Brackley responded with pressure, testing Yeovil keeper Jed Ward, who made a series of impressive saves. Ward pushed away a low shot from Morgan Roberts following a cleverly executed short free-kick, and later denied Bailey Hobson’s attempt. Defensively, Yeovil also showed resilience when Gaz Dean cleared a Brackley header off the line late in the first half.

Despite Brackley’s efforts, Yeovil extended their lead six minutes from time. Ben Wodskou struck decisively on a swift counterattack, securing what would prove to be the winning goal. Brackley managed a late consolation through substitute Tyler Lyttle in added time, but Yeovil held on to claim vital points.
This win marks an important turning point for Yeovil Town as they look to build momentum in the early stages of the season.
