Yeovil Town Secures Byron Pendleton on Season-Long Loan from Birmingham City

Yeovil Town has announced the signing of 19-year-old right-back Byron Pendleton on a season-long loan from Championship club Birmingham City. Pendleton, who captained Birmingham’s under-21 side, has developed a reputation as a committed, athletic defender with strong leadership qualities.

Pendleton caught Yeovil’s attention during a trial match at Huish Park against Bristol Rovers, despite the team’s 2-1 loss. His energy, composure, and eagerness to contribute offensively stood out. Quickly recognizing his potential, Yeovil moved swiftly to secure his loan deal ahead of the new season. He made his official debut in a recent friendly against Bath City, and will be wearing the number two shirt for the Glovers.

Manager Mark Cooper expressed enthusiasm about the new signing: “We’ve taken our time to find the right player, and Byron is an exciting addition. He’s young, full of potential, and possesses leadership skills and a strong drive to succeed. He’ll be a perfect fit for the squad we’re building here.”

Pendleton himself is excited about the opportunity, stating, “This is my first loan and a fantastic chance to prove myself. I’m grateful to Yeovil for the opportunity to come here and show what I can do.”

Reflecting on his debut experiences at Huish Park, he added, “The atmosphere, the fans cheering—it was an incredible feeling. Now that I’m stepping into men’s football, the game is faster, more physical, and more tactical. It’s a whole new challenge.”

Known for his pace, Pendleton enjoys playing higher up the pitch, making forward runs and delivering crosses to set up goal-scoring chances. “I like getting on the front foot, contributing goals and assists,” he said. “The team has been welcoming, and it’s felt like home from the start.”

Pendleton is eager to help Yeovil climb the National League standings this season. Fans will also have a chance to watch the team prepare during an open training session on Monday at 11am at Huish Park’s main pitch as Yeovil readies for their National League opener against Hartlepool United on August 9.
