Yeovil Town Secure Mason Obeng on Two-Year Deal from Walton & Hersham

Yeovil Town have successfully signed Mason Obeng on a two-year contract, acquiring the talented 22-year-old forward from Walton & Hersham. Despite intense interest from various National League clubs, Obeng chose to join the Glovers, viewing it as a key step in his career progression.

Obeng impressed during a remarkable season with Walton & Hersham, contributing 22 goals and assists across 42 appearances. His stellar performance helped the Swans clinch the Southern Premier South title and earn promotion to the National League South.

Expressing his excitement, Obeng said, “Taking this step up has always been my goal, and joining Yeovil was an easy decision. Knowing the manager offers a lot of certainty for me.” He added, “I want to help the team return to higher levels. I play to entertain, create opportunities, score goals, and most importantly, strive for wins. I’m keen to push for the play-offs or even the league title.”

His individual excellence was recognized too, as he was named Walton & Hersham’s Players’ Player of the Season—an accolade reflecting his impact on the pitch.

The signing also reunites Obeng with Yeovil’s manager Billy Rowley, who initially brought him to Aldershot Town in 2024. Having developed through the academy at Queens Park Rangers, Obeng is known for his pace, direct play, and relentless work ethic—qualities that will be vital as he aims to make an immediate impact at Huish Park.
