Yeovil Town Secure First League Victory of the Season with Convincing 3-0 Win Over Gateshead

Yeovil Town celebrated their first win of the National League season with a convincing 3-0 triumph over Gateshead at Huish Park. This victory followed two previous draws, signalling a significant boost for the Glovers as they continue their campaign.

The hosts wasted no time taking the lead, as Stephen Walker scored a superb goal inside the opening two minutes, setting the tone for the match. Throughout the game, Gateshead’s goalkeeper Peter Jameson made several crucial saves, denying attempts from both Ryan Jones and Luke McCormick. In response, Gateshead’s Luke Supyk tested Yeovil’s keeper Jos Barker with a notable effort midway through the first half.

Ryan Jones struck the crossbar and Jameson once again thwarted McCormick’s attempts, but the Glovers maintained pressure. Their persistence paid off with nine minutes remaining when Luke McCormick, a former Bristol Rovers midfielder, doubled the lead. McCormick then sealed the victory with a second goal in the final stages, confirming Yeovil Town’s convincing 3-0 win over the visitors.
