Yeovil Town Secure Convincing Win to Reach FA Trophy Quarter-Finals

Yeovil Town delivered a commanding performance to book their place in the FA Trophy quarter-finals with a 2-0 victory away at AFC Telford United. After a two-week break following their game against Brackley, manager Billy Rowley praised his squad for their focus and discipline throughout the match.

“Trophy fixtures present unique challenges,” Rowley reflected. “Coming away to an in-form Telford side, who likely embraced their underdog status, made for a great contest. The atmosphere was electric, and their supporters were outstanding.”

From the outset, the Glovers pressed hard, creating early opportunities with promising efforts from Dakarai Mafico and Harvey Greenslade. Their persistence paid off on the 27th minute when a Greenslade cross from the left was deflected past the goalkeeper to give Yeovil the lead.

Rowley was delighted with his team’s control of the game: “We dominated for large spells and generated some quality chances. We managed the game well considering the occasion.”

Despite midfielder Josh Tobin being substituted at halftime following a booking, Rowley lauded Tobin’s influence in the first 40 minutes. “He’s a gifted player and was exceptional during his time on the pitch.”

Telford upped their pressure in the second half, but Yeovil’s defense held firm. The Glovers doubled their advantage just after the 60-minute mark when Tahvon Campbell capitalized on a defensive error, calmly finishing to put the game beyond doubt.

“Tav’s hunger and aggression shine through in training and matches alike,” Rowley commented. “He’s proven his quality at every club and was a key figure tonight.”

The match also marked memorable senior debuts for Under-18s Jaydon Biss and Liam Nardiello, who impressed after only two training sessions with the first team. “It was brilliant to see them step up,” said Rowley.

Debutant Troy Perrett also earned praise for his strong showing, while Campbell’s tireless work rate was noted: “Troy was excellent on his debut, and Tav battled hard until the final whistle.”

With the quarter-final draw scheduled for Monday, Yeovil’s focus remains firmly on balancing cup progress with league ambitions. “We’ll eagerly await the draw but continue to prioritize strong league performances,” Rowley concluded.

Next up, the Glovers travel to Altrincham in the league, aiming to carry forward the confidence and intensity from this victory.
