Yeovil Town has entered a phase of transition, marked by strategic adjustments under manager Richard Dryden as he molds the squad following Mark Cooper’s tenure. The club recently experienced a 3-0 loss at Rochdale, a match that also featured the debuts of new signings George Nurse and Michee Efete.
Nurse, a dynamic full-back known for his pace and midfield attacking prowess, joined Yeovil on a one-month contract from Shrewsbury Town. The 25-year-old Bristol-born player has accumulated over 70 appearances in League One and impressed with long throws and crosses in his debut. A Bristol City Academy alumnus, Nurse’s experience includes successful spells at Newport County and Walsall. Dryden praised him as a valuable addition providing athleticism and quality, especially crucial during James Plant’s ongoing recovery.
“I’ve been in and out of the team at Shrewsbury, so consistent football is what I need,” Nurse commented post-match. “Being local to Bristol, this move also allows me to spend more time with family, which is important.”

Michee Efete joins on a contract through the end of the season after leaving Ross County. A seasoned defender, Efete brings experience from several campaigns at Grimsby Town, including their National League promotion and notable FA Cup quarter-final run. Known for his defensive awareness and forward driving, Efete adds solidity and pace on the flank. Dryden highlighted his reliability and strong attitude as valuable assets to Yeovil.
Following these additions, the club confirmed the departures of Ben Wodskou and Charlie Cooper. Wodskou, who joined on loan from Birmingham City, was recalled after nine appearances and one goal. Charlie Cooper, with 97 appearances for Yeovil, has moved to Hereford on loan until January, seeking increased playing opportunities.
This careful brinkmanship of ins and outs demonstrates Yeovil Town’s commitment to evolving their squad strategically under Dryden’s guidance, aiming to strengthen their competitiveness in the coming months.
