Yeovil Town Prepare for Challenging Boxing Day Clash Against Truro City

Yeovil Town manager Billy Rowley has acknowledged the challenge ahead as his team travels to face Truro City on Boxing Day. Following a disappointing defeat to National League front-runners Forest Green, which ended Rowley’s winning streak, the Glovers are eager to bounce back.

“We weren’t the best version of ourselves against Forest Green,” Rowley admitted. “The conditions weren’t ideal, but both teams had to cope with them.” Despite the setback, he remains focused on moving forward. “We’ve refined our playing style and principles, and I’m keen to get the team back on the pitch.”

Truro City, currently anchored at the bottom of the National League table, may appear vulnerable, but Rowley warns against underestimating them. “It’s a tricky game; the league table is unkind to them,” he said. “They’ve had some unlucky results that don’t reflect their performances. I’m fully expecting a tough match.”

The Glovers are aware of Truro’s recent 2-0 home victory over Wealdstone but also note their heavy defeat to York City in the last outing. Still, Rowley remains optimistic. “I’m confident we can win.”

There is encouraging news in the squad as both Josh Sims and Jacob Maddox have returned to full training. “Jacob looks sharp, and Sims was bright last week,” Rowley reported. Maddox, who has made only five appearances since joining last season, is showing promise. “He’s been glimpsing the qualities of a top player, almost like a new signing.”

Yeovil will draw confidence from their previous 2-0 win against Truro, which secured the National League South title. With the festive fixture approaching, Rowley hopes his team can deliver a strong performance and end the Christmas period on a positive note.
