Yeovil Town manager Billy Rowley is gearing up for a pivotal National League encounter as his side prepares to host Aldershot Town at Huish Park. With both teams close in the standings—Yeovil sitting 17th, just two points ahead of 19th-placed Aldershot—the upcoming match promises to be a tightly contested affair.
“Our focus has to be on being really solid and showing great respect for Aldershot,” Rowley emphasized. “They’re in strong form and have proven to be tough opponents.”
Yeovil’s recent performances have been a mixed bag but include encouraging signs. A 1-1 draw against Rochdale extended their streak to two wins, one draw, and one loss in their last five league matches. Rowley noted, “While results matter most, the quality of our performances is equally important. We didn’t show our best in the first half against Boreham Wood but redeemed ourselves in the second. Against Rochdale, I believed we earned our point.”

Aldershot arrives with momentum, boasting three wins, one draw, and one defeat in their last five games. Their recent 1-1 draw with Tamworth reflects their competitive edge. Yeovil’s previous encounter with Aldershot ended in a 4-1 defeat back in September, a result that the Glovers will be eager to overturn.
Rowley described Aldershot as “one of the form teams in the league, very fluid, and capable of creating numerous scoring chances. On their day, they can challenge anyone.”
Positive news for Yeovil comes with several players returning from injury. “Jonathan Page is back in the squad, and Alex Whittle has resumed training,” Rowley shared. “For the first time in weeks, we’ll have a full bench, which is a big boost. The team is in good spirits and ready to compete.”
Despite facing a challenging schedule ahead, Rowley remains ambitious. “We have tough games coming up, but we’re setting clear targets. Our aim is to be looking upwards in the table.”
He also highlighted the importance of team morale in sustaining success: “When you’re on a good run, there’s a real eagerness to get out and play. The lads genuinely want to be on the pitch every game, and that’s exactly the attitude we need.”
As Yeovil Town approaches this critical fixture on Tuesday night, they see it as a prime opportunity to gain momentum and climb the league standings.
