Yeovil Town Owner Prabhu Srinivasan Addresses Mark Cooper’s Departure and Club’s Future

Yeovil Town owner Prabhu Srinivasan has finally spoken out following the recent dismissal of manager Mark Cooper. The decision came after a heartbreaking 4-3 home defeat to Gateshead on Bank Holiday Monday — a match Srinivasan attended at Huish Park. This loss marked the tipping point as the Glovers had only one victory in their first five games this season.

In the immediate aftermath, Richard Dryden has stepped in as interim manager while the club diligently searches for a permanent replacement. Srinivasan cautions that the recruitment process will take time, as the club aims to find the best possible fit for Yeovil Town’s unique culture and ambitions.

Reflecting on his first 90 days in charge, Srinivasan shared a comprehensive update with the fans about the club’s direction both on and off the pitch. He said:

“It’s been 90 days since we acquired Yeovil Town, and what a journey it’s been. Our motivation for purchasing this club is deeply rooted in its status as a family and community institution, where unity is paramount.

When I spoke to you in June, I talked about the three Cs that guide us: creating calmness, serving the community, and being competitive.

Considerable progress has been made on establishing calmness among the core team and sponsors — everyone is aligned with the club’s vision moving forward.

Community engagement has also seen significant groundwork in the past three months, with more developments set to unfold in the coming months. Our aim is to forge a seamless partnership between the club and the local community.

Regarding competitiveness, we faced a crossroads and decided that a managerial change was necessary. However, this is not a rushed decision based on quick hires or CV submissions. Our global network — including partners with football management experience — is rigorously evaluating candidates.

We are carefully assessing technical expertise, coaching background, proven track records, and crucially, how each candidate communicates and connects with the first team, supporters, and the media.

This is a thoughtful, methodical, and scientific process that may require time. I ask for your continued support and patience as we strive to build a sustainable future for Yeovil Town.

I want to emphasize, this ownership is not about ego. It is about uniting to do what is best for the club and its community.”
