Yeovil Town Football Club has announced its decision to withdraw from this season’s National League Cup. The competition, revived last season, features 16 National League teams competing alongside 16 Premier League 2 Under-21 squads. It includes group stages followed by knockout rounds beginning at the quarter-final stage.
Last season, Leeds United’s Under-21 team claimed the title, defeating Sutton United in the final. Although Yeovil Town qualified for the 2024/25 competition, the club has chosen not to participate. Carlisle United has similarly declined to enter.
In an official statement, Yeovil Town emphasized their commitment to focusing on key priorities: “With the new campaign approaching, our focus is firmly on the league and other key competitions. After careful review of our priorities, we believe it is in the best interest of the club to dedicate our efforts entirely to our primary objectives for the upcoming season.

“We recognize that the National League Cup has not been a priority for many clubs in recent years, and we understand that our supporters share our focus on success where it truly matters. We are, as always, grateful for your ongoing support and look forward to seeing you throughout the season.”
