Yeovil Town manager Billy Rowley expressed satisfaction with his squad’s progress as they prepare to face Boston United on Saturday. The Glovers are unbeaten in their last four league matches, most recently drawing 1-1 with Worthing. Boston, meanwhile, have won only one of their past eight games, following a 1-1 draw against Halifax.
Last season, Yeovil and Boston met twice, with Yeovil winning 2-1 at Huish Park in Rowley’s first match in charge, before losing by the same scoreline away. Rowley anticipates a challenging encounter against Boston despite their recent form, highlighting the unpredictability of their defensive strategy and the threats posed by key players.
He said, “I can never foresee or guess what they’re going to do defensively against us. I do feel it will be slightly different stylistically, and they possess some real threats in their team. It’s just another standard National League game; you have to be ready and at your best to win.”

Reflecting on the Worthing match, Rowley noted the positives, stating that the team could have scored several goals on another day. Although pleased with the start to the season, he believes the team has not yet reached its peak performance. “It takes four, five months to really, really hit top gear and I don’t think we’ve hit that yet, but we’re closer than I thought we’d be,” he added.
Defender Jack Kingdon has been singled out for commendation after delivering exceptional performances in recent matches. Rowley praised Kingdon as an incredible professional who consistently demonstrates commitment and reliability.
Regarding squad fitness, Rowley provided an update on Joe Haigh’s injury recovery. Haigh is reportedly fit and strong, with a return to full ball work expected within two to three weeks.
Yeovil Town will aim to build on their current unbeaten streak when they host Boston United in Somerset on Saturday.
