Yeovil Town Falls Short Again as Fans Left Disappointed

Yeovil Town manager Richard Dryden faces a challenging task as his team struggles to regain form after a 2-0 defeat to Wealdstone on Tuesday night. The Glovers are now without a win in their last five matches across all competitions, highlighting ongoing issues that have left the supporters disheartened.

The difficult weather conditions during the match seemed to mirror Yeovil’s performance on the pitch. Although the team showed resilience when out of possession, their inaccuracy and lack of sharpness in attack prevented them from creating meaningful chances to fight back after conceding second-half goals by Dom Hutchinson and Max Kretzschmar.

Reflecting on the game, Dryden said, “Defensively, we were quite solid, but we gave the opposition a bit too much time on the ball. Our biggest problem was when we regained possession—we weren’t sharp or precise enough. That lack of quality on the ball compromised our ability to turn things around.”

He pointed out one key moment: “The first goal came from a free-kick conceded by Tav [Tahvon Campbell], which was unfortunate, but there were several occasions after that where we could have done better. The second goal especially hurt because we were well-positioned but lost control of the ball at a crucial time.”

Dryden acknowledged the fans’ frustration too. “We haven’t given the supporters much to cheer about, maybe only a shot early in the first half. The crowd showed spirit in the second half, but we have to give them more reason to get behind us.”

His message to the team and the fans is clear: “No one enjoys losing, and the whole changing room is feeling that frustration. We are determined to bounce back and improve as a group—players and staff alike. We owe it to ourselves and to our fans to do better.”

As Yeovil Town looks ahead, the emphasis is on refining possession play, sharpening attacking moves, and delivering performances that reignite hope and enthusiasm within the fan base.
