Yeovil Town Fall to Stoppage-Time Defeat as Winless Streak Reaches Six

Yeovil Town’s pursuit of a National League win continues to falter after Southend secured a dramatic 1-0 victory with a stoppage-time strike by substitute Slavi Spasov.

Spasov, brought on late in the match, capitalized on a rebound in the second minute of added time, following a shot from Andy Dallas that was initially saved by Yeovil’s goalkeeper Jed Ward. The goal crushed Yeovil’s hopes and prolonged their winless run to six games.

The first half saw Southend take control, with Dallas testing the Yeovil defense early on. His low shot narrowly missed the target by grazing the post, and Ward made crucial saves denying attempts from both Dallas and Oli Coker.

As the second half began, Southend continued to press, with Josh Walker’s header saved by Ward. Yeovil fought back with forward Aaron Jarvis skillfully bypassing Southend’s keeper Nick Hayes, but his final shot was blocked by a defender.

Despite having opportunities, Yeovil couldn’t find a breakthrough, and Southend’s late winner ensured the Glovers remain without a win in their last six National League outings.
