Yeovil Town Fall to 20th After Convincing Defeat at Carlisle United

Carlisle United secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Yeovil Town at Brunton Park, marking their fifth win in six National League fixtures and keeping their promotion ambitions alive.

The home side struck early when captain Morgan Feeney rose to head in Jack Ellis' precise cross in the fifth minute, giving Carlisle a swift advantage. Just 12 minutes later, the lead doubled when Stephen Wearne was fouled in the box by Yeovil defender Finn Cousin-Dawson, allowing Luke Armstrong to calmly convert the penalty — his tenth goal of the season.

As the first half drew to a close, Carlisle wrapped up the scoring. Ryan Galvin showcased great composure to slot home his first goal for the club after capitalizing on a through-ball from Ellis.

In the second half, Carlisle pressed forward, though Armstrong was denied by Yeovil’s goalkeeper Jed Ward, and a potential goal from substitute Chris Conn-Clarke was ruled out for offside. Despite Carlisle’s dominance, the score remained unchanged, leaving Yeovil to rue the defeat that dropped them down to 20th in the table.
