Yeovil Town’s struggles continued on Tuesday night as Harry Beautyman’s decisive goal secured a 1-0 victory for Woking. This defeat marks Yeovil’s third consecutive loss, leaving them just four points above the relegation zone, but with a game in hand.
The match started cautiously, with both teams probing for openings. Early attempts included a corner from Josh Sims’ cross and a free-kick that required a smart save from Yeovil goalkeeper Jed Ward. Beautyman had an early chance, flicking on a shot from Olly Sanderson that Ward handled comfortably.
However, Beautyman broke the deadlock in the 30th minute, capitalizing on his previous attempt to give Woking the lead. Yeovil struggled to respond effectively in the first half, with few clear chances.

The second half saw an improved Yeovil performance. James Daly tested Woking’s goalkeeper Will Jääskeläainen, who made a crucial save after a deflected effort. Daly remained Yeovil’s most potent threat, nearly delivering chances from the left flank, including a dangerous cross that went unconverted.
In the final minutes, Brett McGavin’s free-kick threatened the Woking goal but was deftly saved, followed by a scramble that the hosts managed to clear. Yeovil pressed hard in stoppage time with chances falling to substitute Troy Perrett and Terrell Works, but neither could find the net.
Post-match, Yeovil manager Billy Rowley voiced his frustrations over the team’s inconsistent performances. “Terrible first half, decent enough second half. We can’t seem to play two good halves in one week. That’s our problem right now,” he said.
Rowley emphasized the need for passion and professionalism, pointing to the privilege of playing at this level and the hard work required. “If you don’t run and fight hard every minute, you lose. That’s the minimum requirement at a club like Yeovil,” he added.
The manager also highlighted the ongoing challenge: “We should have scored a couple of goals tonight. This has been a recurring theme all season—slow starts, lack of goals, and inconsistency. It’s frustrating and something we must fix to avoid slipping further down the table.”
