Yeovil Town Faces Lengthy Home Game Drought After Postponement

Yeovil Town’s scheduled fixture against Aldershot Town at Huish Park was postponed for player safety after an inspection deemed the pitch unplayable.

Despite withstanding earlier rainfall well—recording 25mm over the weekend and an additional 17mm since Tuesday morning—the pitch conditions deteriorated rapidly. A sudden 8mm downpour within two hours, coupled with a change in wind direction, overwhelmed the surface. Even after verti-draining following the team’s last match, the ground could not cope. The club noted that total rainfall for the month has now reached 115mm.

A new date for the Aldershot fixture will be confirmed soon. Yeovil Town expressed gratitude to their supporters for patience and understanding during this period.

As a result, the Glovers will have only one home game in a six-week stretch—the FA Trophy match against Alvechurch on January 10. Their next league home fixture is not until February 14. Additionally, the January 31 home match versus Tamworth has been postponed because Yeovil Town remains in the FA Trophy and must travel to AFC Telford United.
