Yeovil Town Clinch Stoppage-Time Victory, Relegating Truro City

Yeovil Town climbed to 13th place in the league after a dramatic stoppage-time winner sealed a 1-0 victory over Truro City, confirming the Cornish side’s relegation to the National League South.

With just four games left in the season, John Askey’s team sits 13 points behind the 20th-placed Eastleigh, edging up the standings thanks to the crucial goal from Will Merry.

Truro City fought hard throughout the match. In the 28th minute, Harry Charsley missed a promising chance when a slip by Joy Mukena freed him, but he was denied by Yeovil keeper Jed Ward. Yeovil responded with threats of their own, as Merry forced a solid save from Aidan Stone in the 41st minute and later assisted Aaron Jarvis, whose attempt was also well saved just before the hour mark.

As the game neared its end, Max Kinsey came close to scoring for Truro with a header that rattled the crossbar. However, it was Merry who had the final say, producing a superb solo goal in stoppage time that secured all three points for Yeovil and condemned Truro City to relegation at the season’s end.
