Yeovil Town manager Billy Rowley expressed his delight after his side secured a vital 3-2 victory against Morecambe at Huish Park, a result that brought much-needed relief to the club and its fans.
The Glovers opened the scoring early, thanks to a goal from Brett McGavin. Despite Morecambe equalizing before halftime, Yeovil’s second-half efforts saw James Daly and Ryan Jones restore and extend the lead. Although a late penalty for Morecambe tightened the scoreline, Yeovil held on for a hard-earned win.
Rowley praised his team’s attacking display, saying, “I just watched the goals again, and they were excellent. Brett’s strike had a bit of luck, but he’s one of the best ball strikers I’ve ever seen.” He also commended Ryan Jones for his “wizard-like” skill and described James Daly as “the Swiss army knife of Yeovil” for his versatility and determination.

New loan signing Delano McCoy-Spaltt made an impression off the bench, playing a pivotal role in the latter stages of the match. “We’re fortunate to have Delano with us for nine games. He makes football look effortless with his physicality and skill,” added Rowley.
Despite the late penalty awarded to Morecambe, Rowley accepted the decision without complaint. The win elevated Yeovil Town seven points clear of the relegation zone, a margin that offers some comfort amid a challenging season. “It’s a great relief to earn this victory after some tough weeks and hard fixtures. We deserved it with our performance on and off the ball,” he said.
After facing criticism over inconsistency, Rowley was satisfied with the team’s steady showing: “Both halves were about six or seven out of ten, which is typically enough to win. That was the message—win each half—and we did.”
Yeovil Town will look to build on this momentum when they travel to face Wealdstone on Wednesday night, aiming for back-to-back victories.
