Yeovil Town Appoints Billy Rowley as Fourth Manager This Season

Yeovil Town Football Club has officially named Billy Rowley as their new first-team manager, securing his services on a contract running through the 2027/28 season. Rowley arrives from Walton & Hersham, bringing with him a rising reputation within English football circles.

Having previously worked with top academies including Chelsea, Fulham, and Millwall, Rowley is known for his expertise in talent development, tactical awareness, and progressive coaching methods. Prior to Yeovil, he managed Walton & Hersham in the Southern Premier Division, where his side’s quality and intensity drew attention from clubs in the National League and League Two.

“I’m eager to get started,” said Rowley. “Yeovil Town is a massive community club with an incredible history. Several players I know have spoken very highly of it, and when the club called, I couldn’t say no.”

Currently, Yeovil Town sits 17th in the National League and is amid an eight-game winless streak, having scored only twice during that period. Rowley becomes the club’s fourth manager this season, following Mark Cooper’s dismissal in August, Danny Webb’s brief tenure of just one game due to personal reasons, and interim manager Richard Dryden.

Rowley’s first match in charge will be at home against Boston United on Saturday.

Chairman Prabhu Srinivasan expressed confidence in the new appointment: “Our ambition is to play progressive, attacking football and foster a strong club identity, while developing players at Huish Park. Billy embodies all these qualities. His setup, ideas, and footballing intensity stood out. We are thrilled to have him on board.”

Walton & Hersham released a statement acknowledging Rowley’s departure: “Billy Rowley has left his role as First Team Manager to pursue an opportunity higher up the football pyramid after 18 months at the club. We wish him well and will begin the search for a new manager shortly. Our community remains our greatest strength.”
