Yeovil Police Seek Victim After Town Centre Assault and Vandalism Incident

Police in Yeovil are appealing for a man who was assaulted in the town centre to make contact after officers uncovered the attack on CCTV footage.

The footage came to light during an investigation into a separate incident involving criminal damage. On the early hours of Sunday, March 15, police responded to reports of a man breaking a car windscreen on Stars Lane by jumping on the vehicle. An 18-year-old man was arrested nearby on suspicion of criminal damage linked to this event.

During a subsequent review of CCTV footage from the area, officers identified the same suspect apparently punching an unknown man in the stomach. The assault itself had not been previously reported to police. The 18-year-old was then further arrested in connection with the assault.
