This autumn, Yeovil is set to welcome some of the most renowned figures in literature and entertainment as the Yeovil Literary Festival unveils its biggest and most diverse programme to date. Running from Friday, October 17 to Monday, October 27, the festival will host a variety of events across prominent venues such as Westlands Entertainment Venue, Yeovil Library, St John’s Church, and Waterstones.
Kicking off the festivities earlier, a special pre-event will be held on Tuesday, September 9 at St John’s Church, featuring New Zealand author Heather Morris, celebrated for her acclaimed works The Tattooist of Auschwitz, Cilka’s Journey, and Sisters Under the Rising Sun.
Another pre-event highlight will take place on Wednesday, October 22, with British novelist Sebastian Faulks—known for Birdsong and A Week in December—discussing his latest release, Fires Which Burned Brightly.

The main festival boasts an impressive lineup of headline guests, catering to a wide range of audiences. On Sunday, October 26, Rose Ayling-Ellis will present her first children’s book, Marvellous Messages!, engaging younger readers with her inspiring storytelling.
Literary fans and mystery enthusiasts will enjoy Sir David Suchet’s appearance on Thursday, October 23, where he will share insights from Travels with Agatha Christie, exploring the famed author’s journeys. On Saturday, October 25, actress Joanna Page will also grace the festival stage with a special appearance.
Adding to the excitement, celebrated cookery writer Dame Mary Berry will host a post-festival event on Wednesday, November 26, sharing stories and highlights from her new illustrated book celebrating her 90th birthday.
The festival’s diverse guest list also includes renowned figures such as Sandi Toksvig, Amanda Barrie, Abir Mukherjee, Alison Steadman, Dr. Richard Shepherd, Larry Lamb, and Billy Bragg.
Adam Burgan, the festival director and Yeovil Town Council’s Director of Culture, Events, and Promotions, expressed his enthusiasm: “This year’s line-up is one of our most ambitious yet.
