Yeovil Dunelm Store Reopens After Devastating Fire

After more than a year of closure caused by a severe fire, the Dunelm store in Yeovil is set to reopen on Tuesday, December 16. The accidental blaze in August 2024 caused significant damage, but extensive renovations have transformed the space into a brighter, more spacious, and inspiring retail environment.

Kelly Warnock, Store Coach at Dunelm Yeovil, expressed the team’s enthusiasm: “Reopening our Yeovil store is a really special moment for all of us. The fire was devastating for our team and the community, and it’s been a long journey to this point. While our colleagues were redeployed to nearby stores, we’ve eagerly looked forward to returning home and working together again. The support from local people during the rebuild has been incredible, and we’re deeply grateful for the kindness and patience shown to us.”

The fire, which originated in the roof space and caused approximately 30% structural damage, was fought by multiple fire crews using ladders, jets, and breathing apparatus. The incident prompted road closures and a police cordon for public safety. Though the building’s contents suffered from smoke and water damage, the restoration effort has revitalized the store.

To celebrate the grand reopening, the first 100 customers will receive exclusive goody bags filled with Dunelm products. Additionally, 20 ‘golden’ tickets offering vouchers ranging from £5 to £20 will be hidden throughout the store for customers to discover.

Enhancing the shopping experience, the updated Dunelm Yeovil now features a Pausa Café with a ‘Kids Eat Free’ offer available year-round—children get a free mini meal for every £4 an adult spends.

Dunelm Yeovil warmly invites the community to visit starting December 16 and experience the revitalized store firsthand.
