World’s Oldest Pasty Makers to Launch New Bakery in Weston-super-Mare

Warren’s Bakery, the world’s oldest Cornish pasty maker, is set to open a new bakery location in Weston-super-Mare this June, marking 165 years since the company first began in Penzance. This will be the 44th Warren’s Bakery branch across the country, expanding their reach beyond Cornwall, Devon, and Somerset.

Paul Denham, Retail Director of Warren’s Bakery, expressed excitement about this new chapter: “From our original family bakery in St Just to now, we’ve grown immensely. We’re proud to bring a slice of Cornwall to Weston-super-Mare with our celebrated pasties and fresh baked goods.”

Founded in 1860 by the union of a farmer’s son and a baker’s daughter, Warren’s Bakery has built a lasting legacy of authentic, regional flavours. Their menu highlights the best of the South West, including specialties like the Pork and Devon Red Cider Pasty, using cider from Sandford Orchards — Devon’s oldest working cider mill renowned for its traditional apple varieties and methods.

Shane Duheame, Shop Manager at Warren’s Bakery Cullompton, shared enthusiasm for the collaboration with Sandford Orchards: “Combining Cornwall and Devon through our pasty and cider partnership perfectly represents the heart of the South West. This partnership adds a unique cider zest to our pork pasty, celebrating the region’s shared heritage.”

The bakery also offers other West Country-inspired options, such as the Steak and Cornish Blue Cheese Pasty, alongside tea, coffee, cakes, hampers, and a variety of vegetarian and vegan pasties to suit all tastes.

The Weston-super-Mare bakery will officially open in mid-June. For the latest updates, customers can follow Warren’s Bakery on Facebook and Instagram.
