‘Wonka Bar’ Branded Cannabis Dealer Sentenced Following Major Seizure in Pilton

A 59-year-old man from Pilton has been sentenced to 27 months in prison after authorities seized a substantial quantity of cannabis branded with Willy Wonka Bar labels. Andrew John Westwick was apprehended following the discovery of around six kilograms of cannabis, including plants, flowering heads, and resin, at his East Town Lane residence and in his vehicle.

Westwick pleaded guilty at Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday, September 3, to multiple offenses including supply, possession with intent to supply, and production of a Class B drug. The seized cannabis stock was valued at approximately £28,500.

Detective Chief Inspector Ben Lavender of Avon and Somerset Police stated, “Westwick was present when officers executed the search. We found four packages in his car ready for dispatch, containing cannabis flowering heads and resin. His arrest was made on drug supply charges.”

He further emphasized the police’s dedication to curbing drug-related harm: “The impact of drug supply on individuals and communities is devastating. Purchasing illegal drugs not only finances organized crime but perpetuates exploitation within the drug trade.”

For those affected by drug misuse, support services are available through Somerset Council.
