Woman’s Death in Wiltshire Investigated as Murder

The tragic death of a woman in her 80s in Wiltshire is being treated as a murder as police continue their investigation. Emergency services were called to a flat on Keepers Road, Devizes, at 8:10 a.m. on Christmas Day following reports of a serious assault. Despite the swift response from South Western Ambulance Service and Wiltshire Police, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 63-year-old woman, known to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning. Authorities have confirmed that no other suspects are being sought in connection with the incident.

Formal identification of the victim is pending as investigators await further information. A preliminary post-mortem has been conducted, reinforcing the decision to treat the death as a homicide. Police continue to investigate the exact cause of death.

We have arrested a woman known to the victim on suspicion of murder, and she is currently being questioned. At this time, no additional suspects are being sought.
