A serious collision between a lorry and a pedestrian has left a woman in her 70s with life-changing injuries in Backwell, North Somerset. Avon and Somerset Police are actively investigating the incident, which occurred on Friday, September 19, near the junction of Station Road and Station Close.
Emergency services were dispatched shortly before 10:30 a.m. following reports of the accident. The woman was promptly transported to hospital where she remains in critical condition. Initial road closures around the scene were implemented to facilitate emergency response but have since been lifted.
