A woman was sexually assaulted near the seafront in Weston-Super-Mare on Friday, September 8, 2023. Avon and Somerset Police are actively investigating the case and have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the incident.
The victim was on the seafront when the assault occurred. Since then, police have been conducting a thorough investigation, including reviewing the victim’s movements and identifying individuals who may have interacted with her around that time.
Detective Inspector James Holdsworth praised the victim’s bravery in coming forward and assured that support continues to be provided. “We treat these cases with the utmost seriousness and are committed to achieving justice for the victim,” he said. “After extensive forensic and digital examination, we believe the man pictured may have important information that can assist our inquiries.”

Holdsworth added that releasing the suspect’s image is a difficult decision but necessary to advance the investigation. “We urge anyone who recognizes this man or has any relevant information to come forward without delay.”
