A woman was rescued after being trapped in her car following a single-vehicle crash in Somerset early Sunday morning.
At approximately 3:40am on January 18, Avon and Somerset Police responded to a collision near Southfields roundabout on the A303 in South Petherton. The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene.
Fire crews from Yeovil and Ilminster stations quickly freed the woman, who was trapped in the passenger seat, using specialized road traffic collision equipment, small tools, and lighting to ensure safety.

Thankfully, the woman sustained only minor injuries and did not need hospital treatment, according to authorities.
An official from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue stated, “Our teams assisted the female casualty from the vehicle and secured the scene using appropriate equipment.” Avon and Somerset Police confirmed the incident details and confirmed the woman’s condition as minor with no hospital admission required.
