A woman in her 30s was injured after being hit by a van outside a Co-op in North Somerset when she tried to stop an apparent theft.
According to Avon and Somerset Police, the incident occurred on Thursday, 3 September, between 11am and midday at the Co-op store in Hill Court, Paulton. An unidentified woman left the store carrying a basket of food items she had not paid for.
The woman attempting to intervene sustained minor injuries in a collision with a Vauxhall Combo van. After the collision, the driver, described as an unknown male, drove away in the vehicle with the alleged shoplifter.

The injured woman did not require hospital treatment for her injuries.
Police are currently investigating the incident and have released images of two individuals they believe can assist with enquiries. The first is described as a white woman with long black hair, wearing a green dress and a grey fleece. The second is a white man with short, cropped hair, dressed in blue jeans and a grey hooded jumper.
