A woman in her 30s was hit by a van outside the Co-op in Hill Court, Paulton, North Somerset, after trying to stop a suspected shoplifter on Thursday, 3 September, between 11am and 12pm. Police reported that an unknown woman exited the store carrying a basket of food items she had not paid for. The woman who intervened was struck in a collision with a Vauxhall Combo van. Following the incident, the suspected shoplifter was driven away by an unknown man in the van, according to Avon and Somerset Police.
The injured woman sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment. Police are currently investigating the event and have released images of two individuals they believe may assist with enquiries.
The first individual is described as a white woman with long black hair, wearing a green dress and a grey fleece. The second is a white man with short cropped hair, dressed in blue jeans and a grey hooded jumper.
