A woman experienced a serious and distressing illness after trying a vape that was given to her at Weston Supermarket on St James Street in Weston-super-Mare. The incident took place on Saturday, 21 March, and has prompted an ongoing police investigation.
North Somerset Neighbourhood Police confirmed that a 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of administering a noxious substance and drug supply offences. He remains in custody as authorities continue their inquiries, including searches of the shop.
Officers have gathered statements from the victim and witnesses and collected multiple vapes from the store, which have been sent for forensic analysis. The police emphasized the importance of trusting the investigative process and urged the public to avoid speculation on social media that could jeopardize court proceedings.
