Woman Dragged off Path and Assaulted in Yeovil

In a disturbing incident, a woman was sexually assaulted after being dragged off a path in Yeovil. The assault took place at Milford Dip, just off Milford Road, around 9:30 pm on Sunday, April 13.

Fortunately, the woman managed to break free and seek help at a nearby house, prompting the residents to call 999. Responding officers from Avon and Somerset Police arrived at the scene by 10:10 pm.

A man was apprehended in the vicinity on the same evening and later released on conditional bail. The victim described the attacker as a tall, well-built man in his forties, approximately 6ft 2, and of white ethnicity. He had short dark hair, stubble, a tattoo on his left arm, and was wearing a grey polo top and blue jeans, with a noticeable smell of alcohol and cigarettes.

The woman recalled seeing someone in a “small green car” on Melrose Road, who might have witnessed part of the attack. Law enforcement officers have renewed their plea for any relevant information from the public, particularly for individuals who were in the Goldcroft, Milford Road, or Melrose Road area between 9 pm and 10 pm on the night of the assault, encouraging them to come forward if they noticed anything suspicious or have pertinent dashcam or doorbell footage.
