A tragic motor vehicle collision on the A36 near Knook, close to Warminster, has claimed the life of a woman in her 60s. The crash, which occurred on Saturday, May 31, at approximately 10:30 a.m., involved a car and four motorcycles.
The woman was a passenger on one of the motorcycles and sustained severe injuries. Despite medical efforts, she passed away in hospital. Wiltshire Police confirmed her death and have expressed condolences to her family. “Her next of kin are aware, and our thoughts are with them at this sad time,” a police spokesperson said.
This fatality follows the death of Rob Best, 62, who was riding one of the other motorcycles involved. Mr. Best from Bradley Stoke, near Bristol, was pronounced dead at the scene a week prior. His family shared that he was en route to Normandy with a friend and remembered him as a “good husband, father, son, brother, and friend.”

In total, three individuals were hospitalized following the incident, including the woman who later died. The condition of the other two motorcyclists remains unknown.
Wiltshire Police continue to investigate the crash and are appealing for witnesses and any dashcam footage to aid their inquiries.
