Woman Dies After Medical Incident on A38 in Somerset

A woman tragically lost her life following a medical emergency on the A38 in Somerset. The incident occurred on Taunton Road, Bridgwater, at approximately 7:40 pm on the evening of March 19.

Emergency services, including police officers, land ambulance crews, and an air ambulance team, were dispatched promptly to the scene. Despite their rapid response and efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the location.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed in a statement released on March 20 that the death is not being treated as suspicious. The woman’s next of kin have been informed, and the force expressed their condolences to the family during this difficult time.

A spokesperson from South Western Ambulance Service Trust said: “We received the call at 7:54 pm on March 19 and promptly sent two double-crewed ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer, and a responding officer to attend the incident in Bridgwater.”

Authorities continue to handle the matter with sensitivity as the investigation concludes there is no suspicious circumstance surrounding the medical incident.
