Woman Dies After Medical Emergency on Somerset’s A38

A woman tragically lost her life following a medical emergency on the A38 Taunton Road in Bridgwater, Somerset.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident at approximately 7:40pm on the evening of March 19. Police officers, land ambulance teams, and an air ambulance rapidly responded to the scene.

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed in a statement released on March 20 that the woman died at the location, and her next of kin have been informed. Authorities have stated that the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A police spokesperson said: “We attended a medical incident on the A38 Taunton Road, Bridgwater, at around 7:40pm on March 19. Ambulance crews provided immediate assistance, but unfortunately, the woman passed away at the scene. Our condolences are with her family during this difficult time.”

South Western Ambulance Service Trust also provided details of their response: “We received the call at 7:54pm. Two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer, and a responding officer were dispatched to assist at the incident in Bridgwater.”

The somber event serves as a reminder of the critical role emergency services play in responding swiftly to medical crises.
