A 63-year-old woman has been charged with murder following the death of an elderly woman on Christmas Day in Devizes. Stefania Glowka, a resident of Keepers Road, appeared at Swindon Magistrates' Court on December 30, accused of killing Tamara Glowka, a woman believed to be in her 80s.
The incident occurred at a flat on Keepers Road, where both women were known to each other. Wiltshire Police confirmed that Stefania Glowka has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Bristol Crown Court on December 31.
While a preliminary post-mortem examination has taken place, authorities indicated that further analysis is needed to confirm the exact cause of death. Additionally, formal identification of the victim is still pending.

A police cordon that was established at the scene has since been lifted. Wiltshire Police stated: “A woman has been charged and remanded following the death of another woman at an address in Keepers Road, Devizes on Christmas Day. The investigation continues as formal identification and cause of death are being established.”
