Wiltshire Council has announced a series of temporary traffic orders affecting the villages of Box and Colerne to accommodate essential utility works by Openreach and Wessex Water. These works will require both daytime and overnight road closures to ensure the safety of workers and road users.
The traffic orders, labelled A to C, have a legal maximum duration of 18 months. However, the council expects the utility maintenance to be completed within the specified time frames, subject to weather conditions. Drivers are advised to follow clearly displayed diversion signs posted along the affected routes.
Access to properties and local businesses will be maintained where possible, but those travelling through the areas should anticipate delays due to the nature of the works. The impacted locations are near the postal codes SN13 8EP and SN14 8DY, which include key local roads linking to the A4 corridor.
